Parliament Passes Tribunals Bill 2026 after heated debate.

Parliament has passed the Tribunals Bill, 2026, after the legislation went through its third reading and received approval from lawmakers.

Earlier this year, the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, presented the Tribunals Bill, 2026, to Parliament. He said the Bill was meant to improve access to justice, reduce delays in the courts and bring back tribunals with the necessary constitutional safeguards.

The Bill was later sent to Parliament’s Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee and the Judiciary Committee for detailed review before returning to the House for debate and approval.

With Parliament’s approval of the Bill, the country has moved a step closer to setting up the new tribunal system. The Bill will now be sent to the President for assent before it becomes law.
